Mr. Shenkar is of counsel for Marc J. Bern & Partners. Mr. Shenkar’s work is primarily dedicated to helping clients harmed by the toxic “forever” chemicals in the Aqueous Firefighting Foam (AFFF) litigation. Prior to his current role, Mr. Shenkar collaborated with the law firm’s opioid litigation team, successfully advocating for local counties and municipalities directly impacted by the devastating consequences of the opioid crisis. Before joining Marc J. Bern, Mr. Shenkar served as the General Counsel for the South Carolina Department of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Services, where he spearheaded legislation and developed evidence-based strategies to combat opioid abuse. Prior to that, Mr. Shenkar served as a specialized Drug Diversion prosecutor, both as an Assistant District Attorney and as an Assistant United States Attorney. His prosecutions focused on criminal cases involving the diversion of pharmaceutical drugs into illicit markets. In addition to his legal work, Mr. Shenkar has authored and published several scholarly articles, including a subject-matter expert paper for the South Carolina Law Review Symposium Publication.
