Stephen F. MonroeStephen is licensed to practice law in Illinois. Working out of our Chicago office, he focuses on representing current and former railroad workers diagnosed with life-threatening cancers caused by the daily exposure to toxic chemicals. Even before graduating law school in 2011, Stephen Monroe devoted his professional life to helping the disadvantaged. In law school, he clerked at the Cook County Public Defender’s office. He took his first legal job at a Chicago personal injury firm representing injured individuals. Stephen brings a detail-focused approach to every case and challenge, which has proven successful. In his very first jury trial, Stephen secured a six-figure verdict for an injured elderly man who suffered an aggravation of a condition that existed before the accident. The offer before trial was a mere $9,000. Stephen also attributes his success to his relationships with clients. His detailed-oriented focus and personable approach exists within the attorney-client relationship in all of his cases.

Stephen received his bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from Ohio State University. He received his juris doctorate from Chicago Kent College of Law, where he was the recipient of a merit-based scholarship, a member of the school’s national Moot Court team, and a teaching assistant in the school’s renowned legal writing and research program, helping first year students learn how to reason with the law.

In his free time, Stephen serves on the Illinois State Bar Association Traffic Courts and Law Committee. He also enjoys chess, basketball, and the outdoors.
