Marc J. Bern & Partners LLP chosen to represent Wood County, WV in state court opioid lawsuit
The Wood County Commission of West Virginia voted Monday to join 12 other counties in a statewide lawsuit against opioid manufacturers and distributors. The county has chosen to be represented by Marc J. Bern & Partners LLP.
Marc J. Bern & Partners LLP made presentations alongside another law firm from Charleston to the Wood County Commission last Thursday.
The firms differed on whether a suit against manufacturers and retailers should be part of a multi-county federal case currently based in Ohio or heard locally.
“It can’t be a determination made in Cleveland, Ohio,” stated Marc Bern of Marc J. Bern & Partners LLP. “It can’t be made by a judge there, or a jury there. It must be made here.”
