Lawsuits Over NuvaRing Birth Control Problems
Marc J. Bern & Partners and its professional team are investigating potential lawsuits for users of the birth control ring who have suffered severe blood clot injuries. Cases are being reviewed for users throughout the United States.
NuvaRing is a once-a-month contraceptive which was introduced in 2001 by Organon Pharmaceuticals. A number of otherwise healthy young women on the birth control ring have suffered severe and potentially life-threatening injuries, such as:
- Pulmonary Embolysm, Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) or other Blood Clots
- Stroke or Heart Attack
- Sudden Death
Compensation may be available through a NuvaRing lawsuit as a result of the manufacturer’s failure to warn about the birth control ring side effects. To review a potential case for yourself, a friend or family member, request a free consultation.
NUVA RING PROBLEMS
The Nuva Ring is a small and flexible vaginal ring, which is designed to be inserted into the vagina once a month. It is kept in place for three weeks, releasing controlled amounts of ethinyl estradiol (EE) and etonogestrel, which modify female hormones to prevent pregnancy.
Marc J. Bern & Partners and its professional team are investigating potential lawsuits for NuvaRing injuries throughout the United States. All cases are handled under a contingency fee agreement, which means there are no fees unless a recovery is obtained.
Etonogestral, also known as “third generation” progestin desogestrel, has been linked to serious health concerns, including a higher risk of heart attacks, strokes, blood clots and other cardiovascular problems. NuvaRing delivers a relatively high dose of this hormone.
According to the findings of a study published in the British Medical Journal in May 2012, users of NuvaRing may face a 6.5 times greater risk of venous thrombosis when compared to women taking no birth control and roughly double the risk compared to use of some older birth control pills containing levonorgestrel.
The manufacturers of this product have failed to adequately warn about the potential NuvaRing blood clot side effects which have caused permanent and life-threatening injuries for women.
As a result of their failure to properly disclose the potential NuvaRing problems, women who have suffered injuries may be entitled to financial compensation.
